Summer is right around the corner... We wanted to share a share an important resource that could benefit many families during the summer break—the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The SFSP is dedicated to ensuring that children in our community and surrounding areas have access to nutritious meals even when school is not in session. This program is a fantastic opportunity for children to continue receiving healthy meals throughout the summer at no cost. You can find locations where meals are served by visiting the USDA Summer Meals Site Finder. Just click on the following link: USDA Summer Meals Site Finder. This tool is easy to use and can help you locate the nearest meal service sites based on your address. The sites are set up in local and surrounding communities, ensuring that help is never too far away. Please feel free to share this information with others who might benefit from knowing about the availability of free meals during the summer. It’s essential that we spread the word to ensure that no child goes hungry during the school break.

Mrs. Hasselfeldt's class had the wonderful opportunity to take their science lesson outdoors, thanks to a visit from Mrs. Hagle, an enthusiastic education student from SMSU. Under the warm sun and amidst the fresh air, our students explored scientific wonders with an expert-in-training! It was cool to see our young learners in action, engaging with nature and soaking up knowledge outside the traditional classroom walls. Mrs. Hagle brought exciting activities and experiments that made learning both fun and memorable. A huge thank you to Mrs. Hagle for making this day special and to Mrs. Hasselfeldt for continually finding innovative ways to inspire her students.
