This week, students in Mr. Norvell's 5th grade class are diving into the world of mathematics through a dynamic and interactive activity—Math Bowling! The class is practicing the Order of Operations in a fun and hands-on way. This not only makes learning math enjoyable but also reinforces crucial problem-solving skills.
Exciting News! State Senator Rarick paid a special visit to Mora Elementary School to learn more about our amazing schools! It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible work and dedication of our students, teachers, and staff. Exciting News from Mrs. Mantel's 2nd Grade Class! Thanks to the incredible support from our PTO, our students now have magnetic boards for interactive word play! Mrs. Verdon's Transitional Kindergarten class is ready for winter break. The anticipation and excitement among the students must be contagious, as they look forward to some well-deserved time off to enjoy the holiday season. May the holiday season bring you as much joy and happiness as you see on their little faces!
A fun trip to the skating rink is a fantastic way for 6th graders to bond, enjoy some physical activity, and create lasting memories. These outings not only offer a break from the traditional classroom setting but also promote social interaction and physical fitness. Skating is not just fun; it helps improve balance, coordination and provides a healthy outlet for energy. We hope this experience was a memorable one!
Fifth grade celebrated the holiday season with some "choice time". Students were able to choose between extra recess, quiet, or skating time. Here are some moments captured by the students who chose skating. Skating is not only a fun physical activity but also a great way for them to enjoy each other's company and create lasting memories.

Ms. Hambly's 1st grade class combined crafting, gift-giving, and caroling to celebrate the holiday season. Making ornaments for parents and loved ones is a lovely way to spread holiday cheer and create meaningful, handmade gifts. Wrapping the gifts and singing carols add an extra layer of joy and celebration to the occasion. I'm sure their families will appreciate these gifts as much as the students enjoyed making them.
Kudos to the third grade teachers for incorporating interactive activities into their classroom routine by playing board games. Taking time for educational board games is not only fun but a valuable learning experience. Board games can enhance various skills, including critical thinking, strategy, problem-solving, and teamwork. Through gameplay, students can reinforce concepts they've learned in class in a hands-on and interactive way. Educational board games often integrate learning with enjoyment, making the educational experience more memorable and enjoyable for students. Keep up the fantastic work!
Mrs. Rydberg's 1st-grade class is overcome with joy and anticipation as they look forward to the upcoming holidays. Our 5th and 6th grade Challenge classes took some time today to read to Mrs. Rens' and Mrs. Samuelson's kindergarters. This inter-grade activity provided a valuable learning experience for both groups of students!
Congratulations to the 4th graders for putting on an enchanting winter program! Their hard work and dedication paid off, creating a memorable and joyful experience for everyone involved.
