Mrs. Brenda Spartz - Elementary Principal
Primary Program - PreK-2nd Grades

My goal each day is to ensure that our school is a safe, happy, nurturing place for kids. Helping me with this goal is a whole staff of truly talented people within our program and throughout the district. I feel very fortunate to work with individuals so dedicated to the well being of children, both academically and social-emotionally. This year will be no different as we all continue to strive to be at our best each day for our students and families.

Having support at home is a key factor in students being successful at school. In addition to what we can do at school, here are a few simple things families can do in support of their child’s education:
  • Be involved by attending school activities such as Open House, Reading Night, Fun Run, music concerts, fall/spring conferences, and Student Showcase.
  • Know facts about the school by reviewing the district calendar and student handbook; checking daily the contents of your child’s backpack and planner (if applicable); and knowing the expectations on the Mora Pride behavior rubric.
  • Prioritize homework by providing an appropriate place and time for completion. Families are busy with many different activities and obligations so promoting and supporting your child with their responsibilities is very important.
  • Monitor your child’s exposure to media content and time spent in front of a screen (phone, computer, video games). As an alternative, promote learning activities, family connection time, peer social experiences, and physical movement as part of your child’s daily routine.
  • Send your child to school every day ready to learn with a nutritious breakfast/lunch plan, appropriate clothing, and the right supplies for school. Please limit bringing non-academic items to school such as toys and personal digital devices.
  • Take seriously arriving to school on time and attending school regularly. Please see the student handbook for information about excused vs. unexcused absences as well as criteria for keeping your child home when ill.
  • Ask your child about their day and positively talk about school.

Our jobs are based on providing the best education possible for the young citizens of the Mora community. We take that commitment very seriously and value your input in meeting our obligations to your family. If you feel we are not fulfilling our responsibilities or you have something great to share about your child’s educational experience, please contact me immediately. I promise that your concerns, comments, and wonderings about your child’s education will be addressed in a respectful, caring, and timely manner.
