Welcome to Mora High School! My name is Brent Nelson, and I am super excited to be in my seventh year as principal.

A Bit About Me:
• I grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from Tech High School.
• I attended Gustavus Adolphus College where I majored in Health and Physical Education.
• After college, I was a teacher and coach in Richfield, Minneapolis and Underwood.
• Before moving to Mora, I was the assistant principal at Jefferson High School in Alexandria.
• For fun I enjoy laughing with my family and friends, traveling, working out and reading.
• My wife Amy teaches at Mora Elementary, and we have three sons and two dogs.

I am extremely proud of all the positive things we have going on. We have the strongest and most exciting teaching staff you will find anywhere. I believe that Mora High School is the perfect size school. We are big enough that we offer over 80 elective courses and have over 40 student activities and clubs, yet with only approximately 130 students per grade, we still offer that small
school feel centered on relationships.

If you are a prospective student or parent, I encourage you to call 320-679-6200 to set up a time to meet with me. I would love to share the great things we have to offer you, give you a tour of our building, and discuss if MHS is the right fit for you. Go Mustangs!

Mr. Bakke - Assistant Principal

Hello and thank you for choosing Mora High School. My name is Nick Bakke,

and I am in my sixth year as assistant principal at Mora High School.

The staff and amazing students at MHS are excited and are striving to make this another memorable year.

Personally, I have four students attending Mora Schools, with my oldest now attending the high school. As assistant principal and as a parent in the building, I get to see firsthand every day the amazing things that our staff and students do and the impact that they have on my own family and our community. My wife and I are extremely thankful to have our kids in Mora schools. All of my children participate in some type of sport or activity, and that keeps our family busy, much like I know many of your families are. My wife and I are so amazed at how quickly they grow up.

Outside of school, I am in my fourth year as a member of the Mora

Area Fire Department and am very thankful for the opportunity to help

during times of need. When possible, my family enjoys the outdoors by camping, hunting, and fishing.

There are many new and exciting things happening at MHS every day. If you

ever have a question or concern about the school or community please call

or visit with me; I would love to meet you and be able to help in any way

that I can. I look forward to the 2017-2018 school year being the best ever,

and I thank everyone in the community for helping make MHS the World’s

Greatest High School.
